Split PDF

Split one PDF into several files by page range. Everything happens inside your browser.

Your files never leave this device. Everything is processed inside your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server.

How to use the Split PDF tool

  1. Click "Choose PDF file" or drag the PDF you want to split onto the page.
  2. Choose how to split. "Split by range" makes one file for each comma-separated range such as 1-3, 4-6, 7. "Split every page" makes a separate file for each page. "Selected pages only" collects the pages you click into one file. On small screens, these options are labeled "Range", "Each page" and "Selected".
  3. In the page grid, check which file each page goes to, then click "Split PDF".
  4. When it is done, click "Download". If there are several results, you get a single ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed only inside your browser and are never sent to any server. Only the code and character mapping data needed for processing are downloaded from this site; your files themselves never leave your device. You can check this yourself in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools.

Are my files safe even with ads on the page?

Yes. Ads only run outside the tool area. The tool area, where you choose and process files, is an isolated space your browser keeps separate, so other scripts on the page, including ads, cannot read your file content or file names. Nothing inside the tool area can be sent out. When you drag a file onto the page, the tool area expands to fill the screen so the isolated space receives the file.

How do I enter ranges?

Each comma-separated range becomes one file. 1-3 means pages 1 to 3, 7 means page 7 only, 5- means page 5 to the end, and -3 means from the first page to page 3. You can also use ~ (1~3), and ranges may overlap.

How do I get the files if there are several?

They are bundled into a single ZIP file. Unzip it to find PDFs named with their range, such as "name_1-3.pdf". If there is only one result, you get the PDF directly.

Can I split password-protected PDFs?

Yes. Enter the password when you open the file. The split files have no password, so keep them somewhere safe. The password is only used on this device.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are not redrawn. The content of the original PDF is copied as is, so text and images keep their quality.
